Feeder Camera Facts:
Camera 1 is a colour only camera focused on a nyjer seed feeder. Goldfinches are the main visitors although greenfinches are seen too. Blue tits and great tits will try to eat the nyjer seeds but their beak shapes make it very difficult to crack open the seed.
Camera 2 is a close up view of a small bird table set low down to attract robins and other ground feeding birds. The feed we use is specially for softbill birds and contains fruit. You'll spot a jackdaw on camera from time to time - almost filling the whole picture!
.
Camera 3 is focussed on an area of ground where we feed a softbill seed mix in the day that attracts many different bird species. At night we feed peanuts to attract foxes and badgers. To view this camera at night click on the mammal cameras tab at the top of this page.
This and other eco-watch cameras at The Lost Gardens of Heligan are streamed live from here to the BBC Springwatch website - click here to view the live stream. |
