Fox Cub News

We've been watching 4 cubs come and go from the den entrance for a while now (top of the live camera view).

Urban foxes are bold and can often be seen wandering the streets or sniffing around your back garden searching for food at night. In contrast, our countryside foxes are very timid.

Foxes at Heligan

We often catch glimpses of vixens and cubs via our night vision cameras positioned outside a den on the wider Heligan estate.

The best time to watch is from early evening until dawn. Recently we watched two cheeky little cubs outside the den at 8pm (pictures adjacent).

Badgers at the Foxes den!

A Heligan badger put in an appearance LIVE on BBC Springwatch on 12th June. It appeared outside the fox den at about 8.05pm....the earliest ever sighting of a badger live on Springwatch! So it seems like they want to be famous after all!

(see pictures below/ adjacent)

We are still hoping to catch them on camera from inside their purpose built sett so keep watching.
