Planning & Design

Putting your ideas into
a workable and solid plan is what we do
best. We enable you to control the controllables;
but understand that aspects of wildlife
and the natural environment will always
lie outside of your control! |

In some ways planning and
design are the most important phases and can
make or break a project. Because wildlife activity
is often erratic, there is always a random element
in its behaviour that you need to be aware of,
however you can use this to your advantage.
If you want to excite people, wildlife's unpredictable
behaviour can be what makes watching it so interesting;
building tension and intrigue is a great way
to engage
an audience.
What planning and design involves:
Communication
is king. We consult
with you and your team to create a brief, a
plan and system design that meets your objectives
and fits in with your budget and timescales.
However technically complex your system we provide
all of the information that you need in a clear
format that you can understand.
The
system design could be simple or complex, could
include a single camera
or multiple cameras, microphones, triggers
and data loggers linked together across large
areas and disparate locations, over land or
underwater (see Projects
for examples). Whatever the system, we set clear
and measurable goals for each stage of the project
so that you know what to expect and when to
expect it.
We
build everything into your plan. For example,
if you thought that in time you may want to
include more cameras
that capture
images from a wider range of wildlife
over a greater area, we build this flexibility
into the design.
We
look at what you already have in place and design
systems that fit squarely into your infrastructure
and the technical ability of your team. Eco-watch,
of course, provide support,
but it is important for you to take ownership
and have a system that is not so complex that
it cannot be managed on a day-to-day basis by
your staff.
