The iCube
|
 |
|
The iCube has been specifically
developed by Eco-watch for those broadcasters,
organisations, consultants and businesses
who want to view, monitor and present an entire
environment, not only record video of the
animals that live within it. |
|
Predicting and understanding wildlife activity
and behaviour can be simple. For example, when
it's dark, a nocturnal animal becomes active,
as the days warm up in spring animals often
show breeding behaviour and when food is scarce,
activity and competition increases and more
aggressive behaviour ensues. The iCube
is a computer based system that enables you
to show the subtleties of these sorts of relationships
automatically with real data you collect, letting
you show more explicitly the link between activity,
behaviour and the environment; relevant for
making audiences aware of the link between mankind's
actions and the effect on wildlife.
It helps you to create your
own visualisation of wildlife activity in relation
to the habitat in which it lives by using cutting
edge animation and design tools, e.g. Flash,
Silverlight or Java. With help from
us you can engage
any audience, whatever their age or ability.
It helps you present data in novel and engaging
ways e.g. through overhead maps and dynamic
dials and gauges.

What the iCube
does
|
|
 |
|
|
The
iCube records real-time uncompressed
broadcast quality video and sound from
multiple cameras on motion or as a timelapse.
What does this mean
for you? You can give your footage
to the media (e.g TV news) and it will
be good enough quality for them to accept.
You can also use the footage to create
your own films or promotional DVDs.
The
iCube simultaneously streams and logs
data of any type (e.g. temperature,
rainfall, humidity, ambient light level,
IR break beams and triggers), collected
from the environment in which your wildlife
lives.
What does this mean
for you? You can build a picture of
how your environment is changing over
time and meaningful and long-term stories
around the activity of wildlife within
it.
The
iCube simultaneously records and
streams video (Windows Media and Flash)
in lower quality compressed formats such
as MPEG2, .H264, MPEG4.
What does this mean
for you? You can automatically share
and distribute the live and archive wildlife
video to your website in a format that
everyone can view. The files are
small and are great for creating a video
diary.
The
iCube comes either as a standalone
portable waterproof unit or a SD and HD
rack mounted server.
What does this mean
for you? You can use it for field
work or as the building block for more
extensive projects.

The iCube is for organisations and
businesses
who want to:
|
|
 |
Create
stories and long-term engagement based around
wildlife through a video and data archive.
Show
views of whole environments in broadcast quality,
as well as in lower quality formats.
Record
video from more than one camera when motion
is detected or on timelaspe.
Record
video from multiple cameras in uncompressed
broadcast quality, Windows Media (WMV) or .H264
simultaneously.
Stream
live video from cameras from remote locations,
to desktop computers and touch screen displays.
Capture
environmental data such as ambient weather,
temperature, humidity, air flow in chambers,
pressure pad and IR triggers and see how this
relates to wildlife behaviour.
